Confusing Credit Limit

I used a 25% off code for Credit Score Rocket, but the Ava card credit limit isn't clear.

Pretty good, but could be clearer

Anyone else using Ava Finance? I've been checking out their Monthly Credit Reports and so far it's been pretty helpful for keeping an eye on my scores. I just wish the whole referral process was a bit more straightforward to explain to friends, but it's a solid service overall.

Easy Credit Building!

Signed up for Ava Finance last week using a friend's referral code. I was really curious about their Credit Limit Increase feature. It's been super straightforward, and I love that they don't do a hard credit pull like some other places. Definitely better than trying to juggle a bunch of different apps like Kikoff or Chime.

Good for building credit

Signed up for the Credit Builder Card. It's helping my score go up. Automated Payments are easy to set up. No issues so far, simple process.

Decent value, room for app tweaks

I tried the Credit Score Rocket and also use their Monthly Credit Reports. The credit boost happened pretty much as they said it would, which is great for the price. The Credit Education Resources were helpful for understanding things better. My main gripe is with the mobile app interface; it can be a bit clunky sometimes, especially when trying to find specific Budgeting Tools. Not a deal-breaker, but definitely an area they could polish up. Delivery of reports was always on time though, no delays there.

Reliable service, happy with progress

I've been with Ava for about a year now, mainly using their Credit Monitoring and Credit Builder Card. This latest experience was for a Credit Limit Increase. It went smoothly, just like my previous interactions. They're consistent; my score has definitely improved since I started. It's why I keep coming back instead of checking out competitors like Kikoff. The Financial Health Insights are useful too, helps keep me on track.

Worth it for the sign-up bonus

I signed up for the first month free offer and got the Credit Builder Card. Was looking for a good deal to start improving my score without spending too much. The subscription discount for the annual plan made it even better value. It felt like a solid investment for building credit. Definitely got my money's worth, especially compared to some other services I looked at that didn't have any intro offers.

Is it safe to link my main bank account to Ava? Kinda paranoid about giving apps direct access to my money.

D Daisy Vargas 2 months ago
Yeah, it's safe. They use pretty standard security for financial apps. I've had mine linked for a while with no issues.

I was worried too, but it's pretty standard for these types of services. They don't actually 'hold' your money, just connect to manage payments and stuff. Reputable company, afaik.

Is there a good time to sign up for Ava to get a deal? Like do they do Black Friday sales or anything like that?

O Omar Torres 2 months ago
They definitely do some promotions around Black Friday and New Year's, I think I saw something last year.

Mostly it's referral codes, so if you know someone who uses it, ask them for their invite. You both get a bonus that way.

how long does it usually take to see your credit score actually go up with Ava? I need a bump pretty soon for an apartment application.

C Carly Reyes 2 months ago
It took about 2-3 months for me to see a noticeable jump, but they say you can see changes sooner. Depends on your starting point too.

You'll see it start reporting pretty quick, but for a real 'boost' I'd say give it at least 60-90 days. Don't expect miracles overnight.

I'm looking at Ava and Self. Anyone used both and can tell me which one is better for someone just starting out with building credit?

D Dana Bennett 2 months ago
I used Self first but switched to Ava. Ava felt more straightforward for me, and I liked the card aspect. Self is fine too though.

Honestly, they're both pretty similar for credit building. Ava's card might be a bit more flexible than Self's loan-based approach for some people.

Thinking of trying Ava to boost my score. Does it actually report to all 3 credit bureaus or just like, one or two?

R Renee W. 2 months ago
Yeah, they report to all three. That's a big reason I went with them over some others that only hit one or two.

C Cody B. 2 months ago
They say they do! My score went up on all three reports after a few months, so I guess it works.
